If God gave you today, as in right now, what you have been asking for, could He trust you to stay moldable? If the burden or heartache was lifted, would you revert back to the old you?
We are tested and refined by fire. Heat, pressure and time are required to create permanent transformation. Think: diamonds.
Sadly, most of us, myself included, do not want to endure hardship or difficult situations. And for good reason. They are painful. Sometimes we lose people and things that are near and dear to our hearts. Ironically, it is through those difficult storms in life that we can experience the most significant personal and spiritual growth. Our greatest life lessons, if we choose to accept them, are in the storm, hurt and pain.
Think about it: what happens to pottery that is removed from the kiln before it is fully baked? The result is weak pottery that can not be used for its intended purpose.
Do you want to be used by God?
Then, get a sip of water and rock your sunglasses because it’s about to get hot.
A good hot. The kind of heat and pressure that, if you yield to it instead of resist it, will take you God-places. Places no human can ever create. Places of peace, joy and love in abundance. Places where you are not easily moved by the winds of life.
Jeremiah 18:3-6
So I did as he told me and found the potter working at his wheel. But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over. Then the Lord gave me this message: “O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.”

Anderson Sometimes we pride ourselves on being strong and independent….I know I have. Being “strong” through our own abilities will only take us so far. It’s been my personal experience that [...] The post Snare of Self Sufficiency appeared first on Be Well My Soul.
